Ram Revives the Rumble Bee
The muscle truck is officially back. Ram has unveiled the all-new 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee lineup, reviving one of the brand’s most iconic performance names while creating an entirely new pickup performance subsegment. Built for enthusiasts who crave American V8 power, aggressive styling, and sports car performance in a pickup package, the new Ram Rumble Bee lineup delivers exactly what many truck fans have been asking for.
After years of downsizing engines and shifting toward turbocharged powertrains, Ram is leaning hard into HEMI performance with four distinct Rumble Bee models powered exclusively by V8 engines. From the entry-level 5.7-liter HEMI to the outrageous 777-horsepower supercharged Rumble Bee SRT, the new lineup is designed to bring muscle car energy back to the truck market.
Ram Revives the Rumble Bee Nameplate
The original Ram Rumble Bee developed a loyal following in the early 2000s thanks to its bold styling and street-focused personality. Now, Ram is bringing the badge back with far more performance and capability than ever before.
According to the automaker, the new Rumble Bee lineup was inspired by the overlap between muscle car owners and truck buyers. Ram says many performance car enthusiasts already own pickups, making the Rumble Bee a natural evolution for the brand.
The four-model lineup includes:
- Ram Rumble Bee
- Ram Rumble Bee 392
- Ram Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack
- Ram Rumble Bee SRT
Each truck features performance-focused engineering, unique styling, and classic HEMI V8 power.
Ram Rumble Bee SRT Becomes the Most Powerful Production Pickup Ever
At the top of the lineup sits the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT, powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat HEMI V8 producing an astonishing 777 horsepower. Ram says the Rumble Bee SRT is officially the most powerful, quickest, and fastest V8-powered production pickup truck ever built.
Performance figures include:
- 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds
- Quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds at 116 mph
- Targeted top speed of 170 mph
The truck also borrows engineering lessons from the relaunched SRT NASCAR program to improve track performance and high-speed stability. Massive 325/40R22 all-season tires mounted on 22-by-12-inch wheels help transfer power to the pavement. Ram notes this is the widest tire and wheel package the company has offered on a production vehicle since the legendary Dodge Viper.
Unlike the off-road-focused Ram TRX, the Rumble Bee SRT is purpose-built for street and track performance.
Ram Rumble Bee 392 Introduces the 6.4-Liter HEMI to the Ram 1500
Another major highlight is the introduction of the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 into the Ram 1500 platform for the first time ever.
The Ram Rumble Bee 392 delivers:
- 470 horsepower
- 455 lb-ft of torque
- 5.2-second 0-60 mph times
- Naturally aspirated V8 performance
Buyers wanting even sharper handling can upgrade to the Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack, which adds launch control, upgraded brakes, a lower ride height, aerodynamic enhancements, and a dedicated Track driving mode.
Entry-Level Ram Rumble Bee Still Packs HEMI Muscle
Even the standard Ram Rumble Bee stays true to the muscle truck formula with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 generating 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Ram designed the base model to give buyers an accessible entry point into the muscle truck segment while still delivering strong acceleration and classic V8 sound.
Ram Focuses on Muscle Truck Design and Performance
Every Ram Rumble Bee model uses an exclusive Quad Cab short-bed configuration designed to improve handling and appearance. Ram shortened the wheelbase by 13 inches, helping create a more compact and athletic stance.
The trucks measure 88 inches wide and 219.5 inches long, giving designers what Ram describes as “heroic” proportions. Each trim receives unique styling treatments and performance upgrades depending on its position in the lineup.
Performance-focused driver controls are standard across the entire Rumble Bee family, including:
- Flat-bottom steering wheel
- Console-mounted shifter
- Paddle shifters
- Performance drive modes
The trucks are also surprisingly capable beyond straight-line speed. Ram says the Rumble Bee lineup can tow up to 8,890 pounds and carry payloads up to 1,160 pounds.
Ram Is Reigniting the Muscle Truck Segment
Ram executives openly acknowledge that the modern muscle truck category has been largely dormant since the discontinuation of the legendary Ram SRT-10 “Viper Truck” nearly 20 years ago. That truck packed an 8.4-liter V10 and 500 horsepower, creating one of the wildest pickups ever built. Now, Ram is attempting to reignite that same passion with an entire lineup of factory-built muscle trucks aimed directly at enthusiasts. The timing also aligns with Ram’s return to the NASCAR Truck Series, helping reinforce the brand’s renewed focus on performance and motorsports.
When Will the 2027 Ram Rumble Bee Go on Sale?
Ram says the standard 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 will arrive in late 2026. The more powerful Rumble Bee 392 and Rumble Bee SRT models are expected to launch during the first half of 2027. Pricing has not yet been announced, but anticipation is already building among truck and muscle car fans alike. With supercharged HEMI power, track-ready engineering, and unmistakable styling, the return of the Ram Rumble Bee could mark the beginning of a new golden era for American muscle trucks.
