The Beast Is Back: 2026 Ram 1500 TRX Returns With Hellcat Fury

The Beast Is Back: 2026 Ram 1500 TRX Returns With Hellcat Fury

In an era dominated by electrification and downsized engines, Ram is bucking the trend in the loudest way possible. After a brief hiatus, the undisputed king of high-performance trucks, the Ram 1500 TRX, is officially returning for the 2026 model year, and yes, it’s bringing the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 with it.

A Comeback Fans Demanded

Ram pulled the plug on the original TRX in early 2024, closing out production with a limited-run “Final Edition.” While the performance truck world didn’t go silent, it certainly lost some of its rumble. In its place came the Ram 1500 RHO, a capable but quieter twin-turbo inline-6 option. Enthusiasts weren’t satisfied—and Ram listened.

On July 30, 2025, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed what many had hoped for: the TRX will return to production in January 2026 at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan. And it’s not just a nameplate revival—it’s a full-throttle resurrection of muscle and mayhem.

Still Supercharged, Still Savage

While Ram hasn’t yet confirmed final specs, sources close to the brand suggest the 2026 TRX will produce at least 720 horsepower, edging past Ford’s 720-hp Raptor R. There are even rumors of Ram dropping in the 797-hp Hellcat Redeye engine for maximum dominance.

What’s clear is this: the TRX is being engineered to reclaim its crown as the apex predator of performance pickups. That means big power, Baja-ready suspension, aggressive styling, and a sound that could wake the neighbors three blocks over.

TRX to Lead SRT Rebirth

The TRX’s return isn’t just about one truck—it’s also the first launch under a revitalized SRT (Street & Racing Technology) division. SRT had been mostly dormant in recent years, but Ram is positioning the TRX as the tip of the spear in a new wave of performance offerings across Stellantis brands.

A Response to Demand

Ram didn’t just decide to bring back the V8 out of nostalgia. When the company reopened orders for V8-powered 1500s, over 10,000 trucks were reserved within 24 hours. Clearly, there’s still a thriving market for big-displacement, high-horsepower trucks.

Every V8 Ram, including the upcoming TRX, will feature a “Symbol of Protest” badge, standard GT exhaust, and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty—a bold move to win back hearts and wallets.

What About the RHO?

The TRX won’t replace the RHO—it will sit above it, offering more power, more presence, and more performance. The RHO’s 540-hp twin-turbo inline-six is nothing to scoff at, but the TRX will once again be Ram’s undisputed top dog.
