Subaru Debuts All-New 2026 Uncharted EV
Subaru has officially entered new territory with the debut of the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, its all-new, all-electric compact crossover. Announced in New York City, the Uncharted is Subaru’s latest addition to its growing EV lineup and represents the brand’s boldest step yet into the electric future.
With sporty performance, over 300 miles of range, and fast-charging capability, the Uncharted is designed to balance adventure-ready capability with everyday usability. Here’s everything we know about the Subaru Uncharted EV so far.
Electrifying Performance: Up to 338 Horsepower and AWD Standard on Most Models
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted delivers a compelling blend of performance and drivability. Featuring up to 338 horsepower from dual motors on the Sport and GT trims, this EV rockets from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. Standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive ensures confident traction, while the X-MODE® system enhances control on snow, gravel, and dirt roads.
Compared to the Subaru Solterra, the Uncharted is nearly 7 inches shorter, making it more maneuverable in urban settings while still offering over 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. Subaru engineers prioritized chassis tuning, weight balance, and structural rigidity for a vehicle that feels just as at home on a mountain trail as it does in city traffic.
Range and Charging: Over 300 Miles on a Single Charge
Range anxiety takes a backseat in the new Uncharted. The Premium FWD model offers an EPA-estimated range of over 300 miles, making it one of the most efficient electric crossovers in its class. Meanwhile, the Sport and GT trims are expected to achieve up to 290 miles of range, combining power and efficiency with all-wheel-drive confidence.
Thanks to its 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery and a 150 kW NACS fast-charging port, the Uncharted can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes—even in cold weather—thanks to a smart battery preconditioning system. Home charging is made easy with an 11-kW onboard charger compatible with both Level 1 and Level 2 systems.
Smart Technology and Driver Assistance Features
Inside, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted is loaded with modern conveniences and safety technology. A 14-inch touchscreen anchors the center stack and supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, while dual wireless phone chargers keep devices powered up front. Rear passengers get their own USB-C ports for convenience on long road trips.
Safety remains a Subaru hallmark, and the Uncharted is no exception. It comes equipped with EyeSight® driver-assist features, including:
- Pre-Collision Braking
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Front Cross Traffic Alert
- Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert
Higher trims add features like Traffic Jam Assist, a panoramic view monitor, and Emergency Stop Assist, elevating safety and ease in all driving conditions.
Bold Design and Comfortable Interior
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted makes a strong visual statement with sleek, sporty styling. Signature lighting, black badging, a high-contrast two-tone roof, and 18- or 20-inch wheels give the vehicle a rugged-yet-modern curb appeal. A silver-painted rear fascia and low-profile roof rails further highlight its adventure-ready design.
Inside, the cabin is both functional and refined. Highlights include:
- Soft-touch materials and orange accent stitching
- Subaru StarTex® water-repellent upholstery (Sport & GT)
- Heated front seats and outboard rear seats
- Panoramic moonroof (GT only)
- Available Harman Kardon® premium audio system
Passenger comfort is a priority, with rear seat legroom comparable to the Subaru Crosstrek.
A New Electric Chapter for Subaru
