New Adapters Will Allow Honda Owners to Use Tesla Superchargers

In a major milestone for electric vehicle (EV) accessibility, Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners can now charge at more than 23,500 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. using a new Honda-approved NACS-to-CCS adapter—now available for purchase online and at authorized dealerships.

This move brings Honda and Acura drivers into the growing circle of automakers that support Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), expanding reliable, nationwide fast-charging access.

The Honda-Approved NACS-CCS Adapter

  • Price: $225 MSRP
  • Where to Buy: Authorized Honda and Acura dealerships or online via the Honda DreamShop
  • Models Supported: Exclusively tested and approved for the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX
  • Compatibility: Designed to connect CCS-equipped EVs to NACS (Tesla) DC fast-charging stations

Unlike third-party solutions, this official adapter is the only one approved by Honda and has been thoroughly tested for performance and safety. Using unapproved adapters may cause vehicle damage not covered under warranty.

Easier Trip Planning with Integrated Tech

Owners can now:

  • Use Google built-in Maps to locate compatible Tesla Superchargers
  • Initiate charging via the Tesla app (integration with HondaLink® and Acura EV apps is in development)
  • Look forward to Plug & Charge functionality coming soon for a fully automated experience

Official Statement from Honda

“Planning a road trip just got a lot easier for our Honda and Acura EV owners with access to the Tesla Supercharger network,” said Ryan Harty, Assistant VP of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Combined with other growing charging networks, Honda and Acura EV drivers now have added peace of mind with a wider range of dependable DC fast charging options nationwide.”

Honda’s Long-Term Charging Strategy

Honda and Acura have committed to creating seamless public and home charging experiences:

  • 100,000+ DC fast-charging points expected by 2030
  • Access to IONNA, EVgo, Tesla Superchargers, and more
  • Expanded support through Honda Home Electrification and Acura Home Electrification for smart home charging, solar integration, and energy management

Why This Matters for EV Drivers

This development addresses a key concern for EV adopters: charging accessibility and reliability. Tesla Superchargers are known for their speed, simplicity, and network reach. Now, Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX drivers can enjoy that same peace of mind.

It’s also a major step forward for Honda’s electrification strategy, giving its EVs access to the largest fast-charging network in North America.
